ELECTRIC VEHICLE VISITS

October 2019

The Electric Vehicle Road Trip Africa, which took place 2 – 10 October, embarked on a road trip across the country, starting in Johannesburg and ending off in Cape Town, with a visit to Jeffreys Bay Wind Farm en route.

This is a first for South Africa and included twelve state-of-the-art electric vehicles. This unprecedented journey commenced in Johannesburg to Cape Town, via Bloemfontein, Gariep Dam, Port Elizabeth, Knysna and Worcester.

“We are very excited to be part of this show-case event and enjoyed welcoming the high-tech electric vehicles to our wind farm,” said Anna Letsoalo, Senior Economic Development Officer for Jeffreys Bay Wind Farm

She added, “With the unprecedented growth potential of the African continent and the rapid urbanisation of the region, it is expected that electric cars will feature prominently in South Africa and across our Northern boarders”.
