On Eagles Wings Multi-Purpose Centre offers counselling, education and life skills to assisting and empowering victims of trauma, domestic violence and rape. This is by no means a simple undertaking considering that the community lacks sufficient support structures and is plagued by drug and alcohol abuse. These are some of the reasons why Jeffreys Bay Wind Farm has made a donation which includes a vehicle for the crisis centre.
The Centre was founded in 2005 where a team of 10 women, care for around 500 victims each year. The future of this Multi-Purpose Centre includes plans to establish satellite branches in three farming community areas (Patensie, Thornhill, Blomplas & surrounding farms.
